The characters are well developed and brought to life by this skilled author. She did an awesome job in showing the struggles of a domestic abused woman, and a middle-aged widow having to enter the workforce for the first time. These two women bond and through the power of that friendship they find ways to deal with their struggles. I learned a lot about the heartbreaking turmoil some women face in our society through this novel. I highly recommend it!Product details

This book is engaging whether you have been exposed to spousal abuse or not. Unfortunately, I was involved in a very volatile relationship for many years, and could appreciate the ins and outs of the character in this book. You choose to remain a relationship where you are always asking yourself, "what did I do to cause this outburst?" or "how could I have prevented it" When really there is nothing anybody can do to control this type of behavior. Every good book leaves you with the feeling that you want to read more.....a sequel may be in the making, I hope. Judy has a lovely engaging style, she makes her characters come alive.Good job Judy!!!
Only four stars because I'm not a fan of chic lit. The subject matter of an abused woman who befriends a widow entering the workplace for the first time in her life is what brought me to this novel. The two main characters, Terry and Anne, are so powerfully portrayed I can't help but think that one or the other, or perhaps maybe BOTH are somewhat autobiographical. If you're a fan of women's fiction you should enjoy it.

I grew up with Judy, and from the time I could remember she wanted to write. I am so proud of her that she has finally realized her dream. This book is unsettling and uplifting at the same time. Having been in several of the scenarios in this book, Judy gets to the root of the love and evil with incredible foresight. I am blessed to call her my friend. Cannot wait for the next installment.
This book is really a best seller novel if I ever read one. Judy's ability to tell the story as it happens if incredible. I know this book tells only part of the real story and I can only hope she goes for part two or another book. Job well done Judy I am so proud of you and glad your my sister/
