This was the 7th book in the series that I have read. I was surprised at how many typos there were in this book. Many times a word/words would be left out of a sentence. Many times the wrong homonym, such as sale for sail, was used. I did not remember the 6 prior books having this many errors. I wondered if there was a rush to get this eBook published.
I have enjoyed this series; however, I encourage the author to employ a proof reader. Each of the books so far has had several grammatical errors and instances of mixed-up character names. This becomes extremely distracting when reading an otherwise interesting book.
This book is the same great writing as all of them! Never imagined who the bad guy - girl was. Surprised me!
I really enjoy all of the books in the series..I can't help but wonder how such a popular author writing books I actually paid for ,seems to get by on amazing reviews without anyone mentioning the horrific number of typos, grammatical errors, duplicate sentences within a sentence, incomplete sentences??? I would be delighted to offer my time proofreading and editing. I do want to see the series continue, however the work needs to be reviewed before publishing.
I've enjoyed several of the "decorator sleuth" series. Quick and creative. I do have to mention my horror at the amount of misspelled words and incomplete sentences. This book needs extreme proofreading.
These books are fun, but for the outrageous typos & lack of continuity. None of these books could possibly have been proof read, & the continuity of names etc. is horrible. These books seem to have been type set by a semi literate person or by random toss. Reading these books is like translating a language close to, but not quite English. If you can get past all that, there is a certain charm to these books.
I have been enjoying all of the books in this series. Wonderful characters, beautiful locales, great decorating ideas. And a good mystery as well. All five star worthy - but this one had so MANY editing and proof-reading mistakes that they distracted me from my reading. Starting about halfway through the book the errors just kept coming and I finally found them irritating. I don't know how all of these errors could have been missed. So, only 3 stars.
Good story and a great mystery, but I was successful in deduce who it was by the second chapter. My surmising, however, didn't diminish the mystery. Erin is a good sleuth and a great designer. With two deaths and multiple attempts on her life, she is sure Sheriff Macey has no desire to solve the crime and no ability. Unless, he can blame it on an out-of-towner. An old boyfriend shows up and throws a wrench in the mix which upsets Steve, Erin's current boyfriend. There are even a bunch of mishaps to slow down the opening of their planned bed and breakfast. With several suspects, Erin must investigate while there is a threat on her life.
